Many digestive conditions are best addressed through medical care, diet & the gut-brain connection.

Three overlapping circles labeled Medical Care, Diet, and GI Psychology, with a person at the center where all three meet.

Most people are never told that the gut-brain connection could be part of what is driving their symptoms.

This site is here to help you address it.

There are three levels to that work explained below.

1

Understanding & Regulation

Most people start here, and for many it is enough.

Two things happen at this level. You learn what is actually driving your symptoms, and you build the regulation skills that give you something to do about it.

Understand what is happening
Build regulation skills
2

Added Support

When Level 1 is not enough on its own.

A registered dietitian can help you approach diet systematically rather than through elimination and guesswork.

A licensed therapist can help with stress, anxiety or depression that is part of the picture.

This gets added to the Level 1 work rather than replacing it.

3

Brain-Gut Behavioral Therapies

Treatment with a therapist trained in GI psychology.

These are the approaches with the strongest evidence base in the field, offered at leading medical centers.

Not sure where you are?

If the gut brain connection is new to you, start at Level 1. Nearly everyone benefits from it, and it is the foundation the other levels build on.

If you have been working on it and feel stuck, Level 2 is usually the next step.

If symptoms are significantly affecting your daily life and you have worked through the first two, Level 3 is worth pursuing.
